Delete or close a GCash for Business account
Note:
Closing or deleting your account is a formal request you make to GCash. This is different from receiving an offboarding notice. If GCash sent you an offboarding notice, please see Offboarding for Merchants.
If you want to close your GCash for Business account, here is everything you need to know to get started.
Before you start
- Empty your wallet: Withdraw or transfer all your funds. Your wallet cannot receive money once the closure begins, and GCash must verify a zero balance.
- Download your records: Save any transaction history or reports you need. Your portal access ends permanently once the account is closed.
How to request account closure
Send your request to GCash for Business merchant support or contact your Account Manager (if you have one).
Make sure to include:
- Registered business name
- Details of the registered account holder
- A clear request to close the account
Note: The request must come directly from the registered account holder or an authorized representative.
What happens next
- GCash will verify that your account has a zero balance, no pending transactions or refunds, no ongoing disputes, and no active loans or unpaid fees.
- Full account closure turns off all linked products, devices, and merchant services.
- GCash will notify you through official channels once your account is fully closed.
FAQs
Timeline & Status
It depends. GCash must review your balances, transactions, disputes, device returns, and security or compliance checks. You will receive updates by email.
Yes. Closure will be put on hold if you have unpaid balances, open disputes, active loans, ongoing compliance checks, or pending device returns.
Devices & Products
Company-owned devices must be returned based on your agreement. The team will help coordinate the return. Closure is only completed after devices are returned or return arrangements are in place.
You can ask to deactivate a specific device or product instead of closing your entire account. Email partnersupport@gcash.com for assistance.
Changing your mind & Reopening
No. Once closed, an account cannot be reopened. If you want to use GCash for Business again later, you must submit a new application and complete verification.
Contact GCash for Business merchant support immediately. If your request is still being reviewed, they may be able to stop it. If the account is already closed, you will need to reapply.
