What is GChat?
With GChat, you can send messages and access Express Send from a chat window directly in your GCash app! Streamline transactions, share receipts, and track histories with your contacts easily for free!
GChat is only available to Fully Verified GCash users who are Filipinos, 18 years old and above, and based in the Philippines.
GChat is unavailable for GCash Jr, GCash Overseas, and Foreign National users.
To start using GChat, you and the contact who you will use GChat with must be in each other’s contact list and synced their contacts with GCash.
Make sure that the following are enabled before using GChat:

- They have enabled their GChat and accepted the Terms and Conditions
- They have synced their contact list to GCash
To enable GChat, go to Inbox (⚙) in the lower left corner and tap Enable GChat. You have to agree to the Terms and Conditions to be able to use it.
To enjoy using GChat, you must allow GCash to access your phone contacts.
Once you’ve enabled GChat, follow these steps:
- On your GCash app, tap Inbox > Chats >
- Search and select the contact you wish to contact
- Start a transaction by selecting
- Enter the amount and tap Next
- Tap to confirm all details are correct and select Next
You will be led to a page that confirms your transaction in GChat as seen below:
If you can’t send money via GChat please make sure that the recipient has a verified GCash account, and has enabled GChat. Please double-check that you are in their contact lists and vice versa.
To disable GChat, tap the Settings icon (⚙️) in the upper right corner and switch off GChat. You can enable it again anytime using the same switch.
When GChat is disabled:
- You won't see previous GChat conversations
- You can't start new chats with contacts
You'll still see your previous transactions in Transaction History and your notifications in Inbox.
