Advisory: Incorrectly Linked GCash Cards
Important reminder
To keep everyone’s account safe, a GCash Card can only be used by the person whose name is printed on the card. It cannot be shared or transferred.
If a card is linked again to an account under a different name, it may also be deactivated.
If your GCash Card is linked to an account under a different name from the one printed on the card, it will be deactivated two weeks from this notice.
What do you need to do?
If you linked a card that belongs to someone else
This applies if:
- The card appears in your GCash app
- Your name is not printed on the card
What will happen:
- The card will be deactivated and removed from your account
What you need to do:
- Order your own GCash Card in the app by going to Cards > Order a GCash Card
- Wait 10 to 13 business days for delivery
- Update any saved payment methods that use the old card. Go to Payment Methods, Billing, or Subscriptions. You may replace it with another payment method, such as your new GCash Visa Card or GCash Pay Online
- When your new card arrives, link it in the app and set your Card PIN
Note: Any pending refunds or chargebacks will still be credited to your GCash wallet.
If you ordered the card, but someone else linked it
This applies if:
- Your name is printed on the card
- The card does not appear in your GCash Card list
- Someone else linked it to their account
What will happen:
- The card will be deactivated and can no longer be used
What you need to do:
- Order a replacement card by going to Cards > Order a GCash Card
- Wait 10 to 13 business days for delivery
- Link the replacement card only to your own GCash account
Helpful tip
To avoid issues, only link a GCash Card issued under your own name, and make sure any card you order stays linked to your account.
