What is GCash Request Payment?
GCash Request Payment lets you ask, track, and receive money from clients abroad. They can send money to your Virtual US Account in USD or to your GCash wallet in PHP through supported remittance partners.
Who can use GCash Request Payment
You can use this feature if:
- You have a Fully Verified GCash account.
- You have an activated Virtual US Account if you want to receive USD payments.
Note: GCash Request Payment follows your GCash wallet and transaction limits.
How to use GCash Request Payment
- Open the GCash app and log in.
- Tap View All.

Under Others, tap Request.
- Read and accept the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Notice.

Tap Create a Request > Enter the request details.
- Review everything, then tap Submit request.
- Your client will get an email with your request and how to pay.
You cannot edit a request after tapping Submit. If there is a mistake, create a new request.

Open the Request Payment dashboard in the GCash app.
- You will see each request and its status:
- Pending – waiting for your client to pay
- Paid / Completed – payment received
- Overdue – due date passed, still unpaid
- Tap a request to see more details (amount, payer, due date, history).
When you have received the money, go to your Request Dashboard and tap Mark as Received.

Your client pays through a supported GCash remittance partner (e.g., Remitly, Western Union, MoneyGram).
- You receive PHP in your GCash wallet.
- The exchange rate and fees are set by the remittance partner, not by GCash.
If you did not receive the money:
- Ask your sender to confirm the transaction.
- Check that you still have enough GCash wallet and transaction limit.
- Your client sends USD to your Virtual US Account using your ACH Routing Number and Account Number.
- The money is credited to your Virtual US Account USD balance.
- It stays in USD until you withdraw from your Virtual US Account to your GCash wallet, where it converts to PHP using the rate shown in the app.
If you did not receive the money, ask your sender to confirm the account details and that their bank has processed the payment.
FAQs
General
No. Request Payment only helps you send and track requests. Any fees and exchange rates come from the remittance partner or sending bank.
- For payments via remittance to your GCash wallet: the rate is set by the remittance partner at the time of sending.
- For payments to your Virtual US Account: you receive USD. When you convert to PHP by withdrawing to your GCash wallet, the rate shown in the GCash app applies.
Note: GCash does not control the FX rate for inbound remittances.

Receiving in GCash wallet (remittance):
- Follows your GCash wallet and transaction limits.

Receiving in Virtual US Account:
- There is no fixed limit per request. However, very large or unusual requests will be rejected, and the GCash recipient may undergo a security and compliance review.
- Up to 5 active requests at a time
- Up to 10 total requests per week (resets the next week)
Note: Mark paid requests as Received so you can create new ones.
For requesters
- Receive in your GCash – client pays via a GCash remittance partner, you receive PHP in your GCash wallet.
- Receive in your US Account – client sends USD to your Virtual US Account details, you receive USD in your Virtual US Account.
After you confirm the money is in your wallet or Virtual US Account, open the Request Dashboard and tap Mark as Received.
- The status becomes Overdue when the due date passes and your client has not paid.
- You can still follow up with your client or create a new request if needed.
For clients or senders
- Check the sender, amount, due date, and payment method.
- If everything is correct, follow the steps in the email to pay via:
- Send with GCash (for Virtual US Account payments), or
- A supported remittance partner.
- Complete the payment and keep your receipt or reference number.
Yes, there may be. Fees and FX markups are set by the remittance provider or bank you use. Review their fees and rates before you confirm.
