How can I use GCash Scan to Pay for public transportation?
You can now use GCash Scan to Pay for your rides easier and faster. As of the moment, it is only available for the MRT-3.
Note:
Use the SAME payment method to enter and exit. For example, if you enter with your GCash Scan to Pay, you must also exit with Scan to Pay. Switching to a different method (GCash Commute QR, Tap to Pay, GCash Card, or other cards) will not work.
How to use GCash Scan to Pay for public transportation:
- On your GCash app, tap QR
- Scan the QR code on the MRT during payment
- Enter the amount and confirm the payment.
Wait for the sound confirmation and the MRT staff should give you the single journey ticket once the transaction is successful.

- Check your phone's camera lens: Make sure your camera lens is clean and free from smudges. Adjust the angle to ensure the QR code is clear and within the frame.
- Restart the App: If you still can’t scan the QR code, close and reopen your GCash app, then try scanning the QR code again.

- Check Your Transaction History: Review your GCash transaction history to confirm the charges.
- Verify Payment Confirmation: Ensure that you did not receive multiple payment confirmations for the same transaction.
- Contact Customer Support: If you confirm the duplicate charges, click here to ask for help. A customer service representative will contact you in 24 hours.
