Why was my GCash Card payment not deducted immediately?
If you made a payment using your GCash Card and noticed that the amount was not deducted from your wallet at the time of purchase, this was due to a delay in processing. Although the transaction was successful on the merchant’s end, the deduction from your wallet was not processed immediately.
The total amount will be deducted accordingly from your GCash wallet. Once the process is complete, you will receive a notification via SMS and in your GCash app inbox. The deduction will also appear in the transaction history.
You can then verify the details in your in-app message inbox against your receipt(s), including:
- Transaction date
- Amount
- Merchant
1. Why was my GCash Card transaction not debited immediately? In rare cases, a transaction may not be deducted right away due to a delay in processing. While the transaction may appear successful on the merchant’s end, the corresponding debit could reflect in your wallet after some time.
2. What does “unsuccessful wallet deduction” mean? It means the transaction was not successfully debited from your GCash wallet at the time it was made, but it was still recorded by the merchant as successful.
3. When will the amount be deducted from my wallet? The amount will be deducted from your GCash wallet following the notification you received.
4. How will this transaction reflect in my Transaction History? Once processed, the transaction will appear in your Transaction History as “Recovery from GCash -398.00”
5. Will I be notified before the amount is deducted? Yes, you’ll receive a notification via SMS, In-app inbox, or Email, informing you of the pending deduction and the details of the transaction.
7. Will I be charged twice?
No, the deduction you see in your Transaction History reflects the actual, successful transaction. It was just posted at a later time.
