Coverage
SeaInsure Gadget Protection helps cover repair or replacement costs for your mobile device if it’s accidentally damaged, gets wet from spills, or is stolen during a burglary or robbery.
Accidental damage
Accidental damage means your device gets broken or stops working because of an unexpected accident. This could happen even if you are careful with your gadget.
Some examples of accidental damage are:
- You spill water on your phone by accident and it won’t turn on anymore
- Your phone slips out of your pocket or bag, falls, and the screen cracks
These kinds of damage are not done on purpose. It also does not count if your gadget was damaged because you were being careless or not taking care of it.
Robbery or burglary
Gadget Protection covers your gadget if it is stolen through robbery or burglary.
- Burglary means someone breaks into a locked place, like your home, and takes your device. For
example, a burglar forcing open your door to grab your mobile phone - Robbery happens when your gadget is taken directly from you using threats or force, such as a thief snatching your phone from your hand while you’re walking or demanding it during a confrontation
Note that if your gadget is simply lost or misplaced such as leaving it behind in a taxi, at a coffee shop, or forgetting it on a bench, this is NOT considered theft or robbery and will not be covered.
- Normal use problems: Scratches, small dents, or a battery that gets weak over time are not covered. These happen when you use your device every day, and insurance doesn't pay for repairs for normal wear and tear.
- Intentional damage and neglect: If you break your device on purpose, or if it got damaged because you were careless—like leaving your phone out in the rain or not looking after it properly—these are not covered.
- Lost or misplaced devices: If you simply lose your gadget, like leaving it in a taxi or forgetting it at a café, you can’t make an insurance claim. Losing something is not the same as it being stolen.
