Things to remember before temporarily locking your account
- You won’t be able to log in while your account is locked.
- Scheduled deductions for GCash loans will continue based on our Terms and Conditions.
- You can still unlock your account through Gigi. Learn how to unlock your account here.
How to temporarily lock your GCash account
For Fully Verified users
You can access the Lock My Account feature in two ways:
Option 1: Via Security Center
- Open the GCash app and log in.
- Tap Profile > Security Center.
- Tap Lock My Account.
- Tap “Yes, Lock My Account” to confirm.
- Complete the verification process with Gigi.
- Once your identity is verified, Gigi will confirm that your account has been locked. You will also receive an email confirmation at your GCash email address.
Option 2: Via the login page
- Open the GCash app.

On the login page, tap Lock My Account.
- Tap “Yes, Lock My Account” to confirm.
- Complete the verification process with Gigi.
- Once your identity is verified, Gigi will confirm that your account has been locked. You will also receive an email confirmation at your GCash email address.
For Basic account users
- Open the GCash app and log in.
- Tap Profile > Security Center.
- Tap Lock My Account.
- Tap “Yes, Lock My Account” to confirm.
- Complete the verification process with Gigi and prepare the following:
- A photo of your government-issued ID
- A selfie with your ID
- Gigi will create a ticket for you.
- You will receive an email within 24 to 48 hours with an update on the status of your account lock request.
