How to use GCash Scan to Pay for public transportation?
You can now use GCash Scan to Pay to pay for your rides easily and fast. You can use it on MRT-3 and LRT-2.
Note:
Use the same payment method to enter and exit. If you enter with GCash Scan to Pay, you must also exit with GCash Scan to Pay.
You cannot switch to GCash Commute QR, Tap to Pay, GCash Card, or other cards.
How to use GCash Scan to Pay for public transportation:
- On your GCash app, tap QR.
- Scan the QR code at the MRT or LRT when you pay.
- Enter the fare amount and confirm the payment.
- Wait for the sound or confirmation. The MRT or LRT staff will give you a single journey ticket after a successful payment.

I can’t scan the QR code. What do I do?
If you can’t scan the QR code, try these steps:

Check your camera.
Make sure the camera lens is clean. Hold your phone steady and make sure the QR code is clear and inside the frame. -
Restart the app.
Close the GCash app, open it again, then try to scan the QR code one more time.
I was charged multiple times for my Scan to Pay transaction. What should I do?
If you think you were charged more than once:

Check your Transaction History.
Open your GCash Transaction History and review the payments. -
Check payment confirmation.
Make sure you did not get more than one payment confirmation for the same ride. -
