GLoan Protect
GLoan Protect is a free insurance benefit for eligible GLoan users, covering loans of at least PHP 500 and a minimum term of 1 month.
GLoan Protect is complimentary, automatically added to eligible loans at no extra cost. The coverage is non-transferable, non-refundable, and cannot be carried over to another loan or user.

Coverage
When you avail of GLoan Protect, you get the following benefits depending on your GLoan start date:
- January 16, 2026 to June 9, 2026 start date: Hospital Confinement Allowance and Loan Repayment Insurance + Excess Credit Life Coverage
- June 10, 2026 onwards start date: Hospital Confinement Allowance only
Hospital Confinement Allowance
If you are hospitalized for at least three (3) consecutive days, you may receive a cash allowance, depending on your GLoan amount:

If your loan is above PHP 5,000:
- Up to PHP 500/day
- Maximum total benefit is 10% of your loan amount
- Minimum of 3 consecutive days of hospital confinement required

If your loan is PHP 5,000 or below:
- Fixed PHP 500 allowance
- Minimum of 3 consecutive days of hospital confinement required

Loan Repayment Insurance
In the event of accidental death or total and permanent disability, 100% of your outstanding loan balance will be covered and paid to GLoan. If any excess benefit remains after the loan is repaid, it will be given to your beneficiary.
Excess Credit Life Coverage
Your beneficiary may receive any excess benefit remaining after the outstanding loan balance has been settled.
Coverage Period
If you applied for GLoan from January 16, 2026 to June 9, 2026, your coverage starts on your GLoan disbursement date and ends at the end of your repayment schedule, which means you are still eligible to file a claim even if you fully repay your loan early.
If you applied for GLoan from June 10, 2026 onwards, your coverage starts on your GLoan disbursement date and ends when your GLoan is fully paid. This means your GLoan Protect coverage stops, and you can no longer file claims for that loan once you have fully repaid it.
Exclusions (What Is Not Covered)
GLoan Protect does not cover claims related to:
- Pre-existing conditions
- Alcohol or illegal drug use
- Maternity, childbirth, miscarriage, abortion, or related complications
- Self-inflicted injury or attempted suicide
- Loss of employment (voluntary or involuntary)
- Natural calamities (e.g., earthquake, flood, volcanic eruption)
- Cosmetic or other elective surgeries
- Incidents outside the Philippines
- Any fees, penalties, or charges beyond the original approved loan amount
- Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
- Expected/managed health events or non-emergency procedures
Insurance Eligibility
You are eligible for GLoan Protect if you meet all of the following conditions:
- You are 21–65 years old
- You are a Filipino citizen
- You are a Fully Verified GCash user
- Your GLoan:
- Has a minimum loan amount of PHP 500, and
- A minimum loan term of 1 month
- Is approved and disbursed within the coverage period
Maximum coverage: Up to PHP 1,000,000 total coverage across all your active GLoan accounts. The number of active GLoan Protect policies follows your maximum active GLoan count (e.g., if max loan count is five, only five active GLoan Protect policies will exist; excess will be cancelled).
Insurance Enrollment
You do not need to apply separately for GLoan Protect.
Once your GLoan is approved and disbursed:
- A GLoan Protect policy is automatically created for your eligible GLoan
- This is free of charge and added without any extra steps from you
- Your policy details will appear within 3–4 days after GLoan disbursement in your MyGInsure page in the GCash app
How to view your GLoan Protect coverage:
- Open the GCash app > tap GInsure
- Tap MyGInsure > look for GLoan Protect under your active policies
Insurance Renewal
You do not need to manually renew GLoan Protect. If you take out a new loan from GLoan, a fresh insurance policy is automatically given to the GLoan user.

How to File a Claim
You can file a claim for GLoan Protect in three ways:

How can my beneficiaries retrieve my Policy Number:
If the insured borrower is hospitalized or cannot access their GCash app, an authorized beneficiary/representative can retrieve the Policy Number through:

- Check the GLoan Protect policy details

Insurance Cancellation
Note:
No need to cancel your insurance, it’s completely FREE of charge.
- Policies created in excess of your maximum allowable loan count are cancelled (most recent first); no refunds given for cancelled policies.
- Your coverage remains on eligible and active loans.
