Sent money to the wrong bank account
If you transferred money from GCash to the wrong bank account, here’s what to do:
Step 1: Check if you got an SMS
If you sent it to an inactive bank account, you'll get an SMS saying the transfer failed. There should be no deduction from your GCash wallet.
Step 2: Reach out to GCash
If you sent to an active bank account, GCash will try to help on a best-effort basis. You can contact support on the GCash app:
- Go to your Transactions
- Tap the wrong transaction
- Tap Get help > “I sent money to the wrong bank account”
Note that refunds are based on the receiving bank's policies. The final decision depends on the receiving bank. There may be delays depending on the bank's responsiveness.
