I sent money to the wrong GCash account or number via Express Send. What should I do?
GCash transactions via Express Send/Send Money are processed in real-time. GCash can only reverse the transaction if the receiving account is inactive or no longer in use. When you use Express Send, you are responsible for confirming the details of your transaction.
Here’s what you can do:
-
If you sent money to another person with a different number:
Contact the person and politely ask them to send your money back -
If you sent money to your recipient’s old, unused, or inactive number:
Reach out to our support team as soon as possible by going to your GCash app > Transaction > Tap the Express Send transaction > Need help > I sent money to the wrong number - If you sent money to a deactivated SIM
If you try to use Express Send to send money to a deactivated or non-GCash account, an error message will appear.
For cases involving inactive GCash accounts, refunds will be on a best-effort basis. GCash will validate your request within 1-3 days.
Tips before Sending Money:
- Double-check the recipient’s mobile number and name before you confirm the transaction.
- Use Send Money via QR to scan your recipient’s unique QR code—this reduces the chance of errors.
- Update your contact list and select your recipient from your saved contacts or favorites.
