General Questions
1. What requirements do I need to cash in to my GCash wallet from my BPI account?
Aside from having an existing and active GCash wallet that is fully verified, you must also:
- Have an existing Peso-denominated savings and/or checking account with BPI;
- Have enrolled such account/s to BPI Online; and
- Have an active BPI Online account
2. Will I be charged a fee to cash in via my linked BPI account in the GCash App?
This service is free of charge for all GCash Users.
However, BPI may impose fees for customer-initiated debits on certain types of accounts (such as BPI’s Kaya Savings accounts, which have a P5.00 fee/debit). If you think you were charged a transaction fee after cashing in, check with your BPI branch to verify what type of account you have.
Questions on Linking
3. Can I link my BPI Online account to GCash even if my GCash account is not yet fully verified?
No. Your GCash account must be fully verified to link your BPI Online account. Visit the following link to learn more on how to get verified on this page.
4. I updated my BPI Online password recently, but I'm still unable to link my BPI Online account to my GCash account (“invalid User ID and/or Password”).
We recommend trying the following steps:
- Reset your BPI Online password.
- Wait 24 hours after your BPI Online password reset;
- Log-in first to either BPI Online/Mobile using your new credentials;
- Try and link your BPI Online account to your GCash account again.
5. I got locked out of my BPI Online account when trying to link it in the GCash app.
Entering three (3) consecutive failed log-in attempts via the BPI Online log-in page in the GCash App will result in the locking of your BPI Online account. Kindly reset your BPI Online password. (Note: Please see FAQ #4 for additional information).
6. I already previously linked my BPI Online account to my GCash account, but I have changed my BPI Online password since then. Do I need to re-link my account?
Yes, you will need to re-link your BPI Online account to continue cashing in using your BPI account. (Note: Please see FAQ #4 for additional information.)
7. I am unable to link my BPI Online account (“Sorry, we couldn’t process your request at the moment”).
Kindly submit a ticket here with the following information:
- Full Name
- GCash Mobile Number
- Date and Time of Transaction
- Screenshot of Error Prompt
- Photo of your Valid ID (Driver's License, Passport, etc.)
Cash In Questions
8. What are the transaction limits for BPI?
On the source account side (BPI), transaction limits are the following:
- Daily Fund Transfer Limit: Php 50,000 per BPI source account (covering all outward transfers)
- Minimum Transaction Limit: Php 1 per transaction
- Maximum Transaction Limit: Php 50,000 per transaction
On the receiving side (GCash), the following wallet-wide limits are observed, covering all funds flowing into the wallet:
- Fully Verified GCash Account: Php 100,000 per month
- Enterprise Account: Php 500,000 per month
Additionally, newly registered GCash Users have a daily BPI cash in limit of Php 15,000. New users can keep using the app to increase the daily limit to Php 50,000 in as fast as two (2) weeks.
9. How fast is the fund transfer / cash in process?
Assuming stable internet connection, funds should be debited from your BPI source account and credited to your GCash wallet in real-time.
10. My Cash In transaction failed. What should I do?
Here are a few possible reasons you are encountering cash in failure:
- Your BPI account does not have enough balance to complete your cash in transaction. Please make sure that your BPI account has sufficient funds at the time of cash in.
- You have reached the allowable GCash wallet limits or BPI transaction limits. Please refer to FAQ #8 on transaction limits for this service.
- You are a newly registered GCash user, and are trying to cash in more than Php 15,000 in a day. You may try cashing in lower amounts, wait to cash in again the following day, or cash in through other available channels. Please refer to FAQ #8 on transaction limits for this service.
- You are in a location with unstable internet connection. This service requires stable internet connection in order to process your cash in request.
- You did not enter the desired amount and select the source BPI account for cash in. Please make sure that you enter your desired amount and select your source BPI account before proceeding.
- Your BPI-registered mobile number is not updated. You may update your mobile number via BPI Online/Mobile App and activate at a BPI ATM, or contact BPI’s customer support for further assistance.
- You entered the wrong authentication code/One Time Pin (OTP). Please ensure that you enter the correct OTP within 3 attempts. Otherwise, you will be asked to wait 5 minutes to try again.
- You did not enter the correct OTP in the expected period of time. Please be mindful that the expiration of OTP is 5 minutes.
11. I am unable to cash in. What should I do?
If none of the above resolves your concern, please submit a ticket here with the following information:

- Date and Time of Transaction
- Screenshot of Error Prompt
- Photo of your Valid ID (Driver's License, Passport, etc.)
12. My BPI account was deducted, but the funds were not reflected in my GCash wallet.
If this happens, rest assured that your funds will be credited to your GCash wallet within 1-2 business days, and you will receive an SMS notification once this has been completed.
Should you not receive your funds after two business days, kindly submit a ticket here with the following details:
- Full Name
- GCash Mobile Number
- Amount
- Date and Time of Transaction
- Screenshot of the email confirmation sent to you by BPI

13. How do I unlink my BPI Online account from GCash?
Tap the upper left menu icon > select ‘My Linked Accounts’ > select ‘BPI’. When prompted, tap ‘Unlink’.
