Who can I nominate as my dependents under the family products?
Married users may nominate the following dependents:
- Legal spouse who is not older than 64 years of age.
- Children that are 3–21 years old.
Single users may nominate the following dependents:
- Parents who are not older than 64 years of age.
- Siblings that are 3–21 years old.
Make sure that you can provide a proof of relationship with your nominated dependents, such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate when making any claim.

I texted and I haven't received confirmation yet. What should I do?
Make sure you have these 4 requirements covered:
- Eligibility: Are you a fully verified user within the age of 18-64? You can check this by going to your GCash profile in the app.
- SMS: Did you text the correct product code? Make sure you got the capitalization and spacing right.
- Balance: Does your GCash wallet have enough balance? Payments are automatically deducted from your balance so make sure there’s enough for us to activate.
- Processing Time: Our current processing time takes 1-2 working days.
When will my coverage start?
Your coverage under SMS Insure starts the moment you receive the confirmation SMS 1-2 days after texting.
- Note that the insured member and dependents (if any) will only be eligible for a death benefit or hospital benefit after a 15-day waiting period from the start of his/her coverage, if death or hospitalization is due to sickness. No waiting period shall apply for death and hospital confinements due to accidents.
Do I need to submit any additional documents when I avail of an insurance product?
If you are availing of an INSUREME product, you don’t need to submit any additional documents.
If you are availing of a family cover (INSUREFAM), you will need to fill out the dependent enrollment form here: https://form.jotform.com/InsuranceKo/GCashInsurance_Dependents. In the event of a claim, you will also have to submit documents to prove your relationship with your nominated dependents, such as a birth certificate or marriage certificate.
If I am purchasing a family product, when should I send the details of my dependents?
Fill out the form that is sent to you with the details of your dependents as soon as possible.
Can I change my SMS Insure policy if I’m already subscribed to an existing one?
Upgrading your plan is a great way to unlock more benefits and protection. You may change your GCash Insurance policy in just a few steps! You may either text the product code of the plan you want to change to or submit a request and fill up this form https://bit.ly/37xtG4i. Once done, you will receive a confirmation from us after the cutoff date of your current policy.
Is COVID-19 covered?
Yes. Death and Hospitalization due to COVID-19 is covered. However, insured members and dependents (if any) will only be eligible for a death benefit after a 15-day waiting period from the start of his/her insurance coverage. To claim the hospital cash assistance benefit, the insured GCash member or dependent must be a hospital inpatient and must have been confined for at least three (3) consecutive days.
What are the exclusions of claims under SMS Insure?
The following cases shall not be eligible for benefit payment:
- Self-inflicted injury, suicide or any attempt threat
- Strike, riot, civil commotion, acts of terrorism, revolution, insurrection, declared or undeclared war, or any warlike operation
- Any illegal act committed by the insured (murder, theft, drug-related crime, etc.)
- Childbirth and female reproductive illnesses
