Your accounts have been linked to consolidate your GCash accounts into a main customer profile. Account linking is necessary because:
- Regulatory requirements
- Security
Regulatory requirements
Your accounts have been linked as part of GCash’s compliance with E-wallet regulatory requirements to establish a single identity for customers with multiple GCash accounts. By establishing a single identity, your accounts will share the same wallet and transaction limit. This is done to prevent money laundering and abuse of e-money instruments such as GCash.
Security
By having a consolidated profile, you will have the capability to better monitor the amount of money kept in your multiple wallets, and the movement of your different transactions of your GCash accounts. This means you will have more control over your multiple GCash accounts, making your accounts more secure.
When your accounts are linked, the following will happen to your GCash account:
- Share the same monthly wallet and transaction limit of one GCash account
- Have only one GScore across all your GCash accounts
You will receive an SMS message from GCash notifying you that your GCash accounts have been linked:
